Jaali (meaning ‘net’) was an important element in Indo-Islamic Architecture. The word refers to perforated stone with ornate designs, typically used in palace windows or balcony. Jaali was a common feature in royal households for the women’s quarters. It provided privacy for the queens, princesses and other ladies to look at the outside world without being seen. Over time, these latticed screens were inlaid with gems and gold leaf, striking designs cut in marble and other stones.
Queen’s View Necklace is crafted with a carved lucite piece over metallic leather, stitched with seed beads, Swarovski vintage cabochons and other beads. The pendant tries to capture the imagery of a queen and her entourage from behind the lattice screen, wearing colorful, luxurious garments woven with silk, gold and silver threads. The pendant hangs from a simple beaded rope, making it take the center stage.
Techniques: Bead Embroidery, bead weaving. Suitable for Intermediate level beaders.
Pendant size: 3 ¼” x 2 ¼”, not including dangle. Chain 26” long.

Kit includes all the beads and materials necessary to make one necklace in the color of your choice, a detailed pattern with photos and digital illustrations with step-by-step instructions.
Please note that the Swarovski vintage cabochons are old. The front is beautiful with no scratches. The back may have minor imperfections.
Royal Emerald color shows the necklace with double chain. It is a variation, the kit includes beads for single chain only.
