On a recent trip to Peru with my family, I had an unforgettable experience. Every day, I woke up to a chorus of wonderful bird calls from the jungle around me. On my morning walks, I would see many colorful birds in the exotic fruit trees and on muddy river banks. One morning, just before sunrise, I went with my family to a nearby island and saw hundreds of macaws, parrots and parakeets on a clay lick near the lodge. The birds had their resplendant tail feathers spread out like a fan and were busy eating clay and chattering. This went on for a couple of hours. Inspired by what I saw in the Amazon, I made Plume Earrings in striking colors. These earrings are surprisingly light and fun to wear. Very fashionable too!
